    Yesterday was supposed to prepare stuff for competition the next day but just don’t have the mood. xD
    Then in afternoon, Selvina messaged me and ask wanna have lunch in Kit’s place as they want to cook.
    I went and meet up with them then went buy some grocery stuff to cook.
    We arrived at Kit’s place around 3pm.
    Start cooking then finish around 7pm.
    So the meal consider dinner and that was my first meal and last for the day.
    We had lamb roast with mustard, rosemary and thyme for the main course and we had pancake dessert.
    I helped a bit to cut the lamb and tasting.

    After chit chatting for the whole day and night, we decided to go back home.
    For tomorrow competition, I decided to buy the ingredients the next morning as there plenty time and I off to bed early.

    As for today, I woke up late as I supposed to wake up at 8 but end up 8.30am
    Went wash up and all then iron uniform for the competition.
    Prepared all my stuff then head to Safeway to buy ingredients.
    Reach campus around 10.30am then register.
    Have to wait till 12am for lunch and 1pm for briefing.
    Wait and wait and wait till I can get bored.
    I’m too excited till can’t wait.
    Even my group mate, Julian can’t wait.
    Then 2pm the competition finally start.
    I wasn’t rushing and all during that time and all go well.
    I tried my best and prepare the dishes from bottom of the heart.
    Just nice around 3.30pm my dishes were done and put one for tasting and one for presentation.
    Then all competitor done their dishes and we cleaned up.
    We leave the kitchen around 4.30pm
    Then we went for short dishes briefing by the judges for all level.
    I gained some experience from the dishes description and all of them are good.
    Our first year got some good feedbacks as we can consider very good in our level as we just started to cook.
    Then award ceremony at 6pm, so rot till that time.
    I didn’t get anything but I’m satisfied as I tried my best and I did a lot of learning from the judges and the seniors’ dishes as this is my first competition.

    My mistakes for my dishes are

    1) Cabbage too raw. (Should had blanch it first)
    2) The sauce ABIT too sour but I already reduced sourness a lot and the sauce seem fine to me.
    3) Rice overcooked; probably I didn’t check the timing.

    See, there like a lot of mistake there but there good point too.

    1) The meat was tender and juicy. Buahahaha.
    2) Presentation was nice.

    Well, I didn’t wish to win this competition but for experience and learning.
    So as the master chef said, at the end of the day, everyone is the winner.

    “A day without smile, laughter and learning is a day of lost.”
